Copy Editor, Global Carbon Markets

REMOTE (Client location: Washington, DC)

6+ Months contract (with possible extension)

We are looking to hire a part-time copyeditor for our Global Carbon Markets Research team for a fixed-term. Workload would be variable but would average around 20 hours a week.

Copy Editor, Global Carbon Markets

The Client Group's Global Carbon Markets team is a market leader in providing in-depth analysis across environmental markets. Part of the larger Commodities team at Client, the research published by the Carbon Group covers a wide array of different environmental markets, including the European Union Emissions Trading System, the UK ETS, the China ETS, the Voluntary Carbon Market, UN environmental policy, American Environmental markets, and much, much more. If you can think of a carbon market, we probably write about it! We also frequently collaborate with our colleagues across the Commodities and Sustainable Finance Groups to examine at how the Energy Transition is impacting how companies and governments make decisions.

The successful candidate should have a native or highly advanced grasp of written English and be comfortable editing and rearranging text from non-native English speakers. Further, the candidate should be familiar with how language choices can impact liability and ensure that all published content meets Client's editorial guidelines. This role also provides an opportunity for the successful candidate to collaborate in planning and drafting new analysis, if of interest.

Must Have Requirements:

• At least 3 years copy-editing or journalist experience
• Familiarity with Commodities and/or Financial Markets a must
• Excellent written English skills, including a thorough grasp of grammar and punctuation
• Understanding of libel law, and ability to adhere to Client editorial standards
• Comfortable editing text from non-native English speakers, including reworking of structure

Preferred Requirements:

• Expertise in Carbon Markets
• Additional languages

Work Hours (e.g. 8:00 am - 5:00 pm) Flexible.
