Job Description

Aramark is currently seeking a District Food Safety Manager to support our Sports & Entertainment accounts within the Kansas City district. The District Safety Manager will coordinate efforts targeting a holistic and strategic approach to assist the organization with implementation of safety and risk control programs, processes, and procedures to protect people, property, environment and company assets. This role will also function as a key point of contact for addressing operational needs as they relate to occupational safety, food safety & sanitation, and environmental compliance, employee training and support execution of all Aramark safety process & procedures. Training and coaching of location management teams and staff is a main function within this role. This position will potentially require some travel to other accounts within the United States and Canada to support operations or large-scale events. 

Job Responsibilities

  • Coach, train, and lead Operations Management and hourly staff to effectively execute Aramark, state, and federal safety standards and requirements
  • Ensure the location has the current Aramark safety standards and procedure documentation in place
  • Work closely with Aramark Safety & Risk Control, Aramark District Manager, General Managers, and Clients to review, implement and enforce Aramark's SAFE Commitment
  • Coordinate and Support District Safety Meetings and Committee Structure
  • Maintain working relationships with local and regional compliance and regulatory authorities
  • Accompany Public Health Department/Regulatory Inspectors during on-site inspections
  • Respond to regulatory non-compliance and mitigate or limit any future inspection violations
  • Effectively manage internal and external corrective action processes to comply with regulatory requirements to identify cause, address problems, restore control, evaluate and monitor processes, modify procedures, improve overall safety system approach, and prevent recurrences
  • Support various special events across Aramark Sports & Entertainment locations throughout the Kansas City district and ensure highest levels of Guest Service and Quality Control

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in safety & health, business administration, or public health preferred,  or equivalent work experience required
  • 2+ years of food and/or occupational safety experience required
  • Previous occupational, food, and/or culinary experience in a high-volume venue or health / regulatory department preferred
  • Previous leadership and training experience required
  • Excellent communication, organizational, coaching/mentoring, and negotiating skills required
  • Certified ServSafe Trainer is preferred or ability to obtain training certification within first 6 months of employment
  • Flexibility to work within a dynamic work environment and a matrix style reporting structure
  • Computer essentials: Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint.
  • Requires ability to stand for extended periods of time and extensive walking throughout large stadiums, arenas, and convention centers for the duration of the scheduled events
  • Requires availability to work event-based hours including evening, weekend, and potentially holiday hours
  • Requires ability to legally travel regularly to support our Sports & Entertainment account locations within the Kansas City district. May require some additional travel to Aramark account locations throughout the U.S. and Canada as needed
