Job Description

The Junior ProjectManager provides oversight support in the tracking of program deliverables forthe Epic EHR Program for the NC DHHS State Operated Health Facilities. TheJunior Project Manager will report to the EHR PMO Manager.

KeyResponsibilities

Management Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with the EHR ProgramDirector, EHR PMO Manager, Application Manager, and other project managers tocoordinate activities.
  • Assist the EHR PMO Manager andApplication Manager with the development of business cases for approval by the InformationTechnology Board and Governance (ITGB)
  • Ensure coordination and communication between NCDHHS and theOffice of the State Chief Information Officer (CIO), Department of InformationTechnology, and the DIT/Enterprise Project Management Office (EPMO)
  • Experience with Health Information Technology (HIT) projects withan emphasis on clinical information systems and healthcare applicationinteroperability
  • Develop maintainproject plans according to State and NCDHHS IT project management methodology;must be familiar with Microsoft Project and MS SharePoint
  • Must have knowledge of IT project management, project budgeting,costing, QA methodologies, processes, and standards.
  • Familiarlywith IT procurements and vendor/contract management preferred.
  • Identify and manage issues and risks,assuring appropriate resolution/escalation and mitigation strategies are documented,and status tracked for the EHR Program

Core responsibilities:

  • Assist the EHR PMO Manager with oversight, and work with the EHRproject managers to monitor and update project schedules, project artifacts,status reports, internally and State Touchdown System, and report discrepanciesto management.
  • Support the tracking of procurement contracts, this includes coordinatingwith internal departments and vendors to verify requirements, statements ofworks, collection of supporting vendor documentation, invoices, and payments.
  • Assist with oversight to track and document EHR Program Risks,Action Items, Issues, and Decisions (RAID Log), and report discrepancies tomanagement.
  • Develop reports for executive management review,and effectively communicate project status, and deliverables to leadership.
  • Develop project schedules and project artifacts as requested by management.
  • Develop meeting minutes and agendas as requested by management.
  • Must have strong conflict resolution and management, excellentcreative thinking and problem-solving skills, and attention to detail.
