This position supports the section’s geodetic control networks and geographic information systems (GIS) products. Activities include training on and assisting with management of the passive geodetic control network; learning and supporting maintenance and operations of the WISCORS active geodetic control network; maintaining the state trunk highway right-of-way (ROW) GIS layer; and supporting production of the Official State Highway Map.
Duties of this position require strong attention to detail, good organizational skills, ability to work as part of a team, and a desire to learn new skills. This position requires knowledge and experience in the following areas: GIS and ESRI software; spatial processing techniques and cartographic principals; consultant management; and project management. Experience using CAD software such as MicroStation or AutoCAD is useful but not required.

The Senior level position is in schedule-range (07-04) with an annual salary of $63,170 - $72,800, plus excellent benefits .
The Advanced level position is in schedule-range (07-03) with an annual salary of $67,746 - $87,360, plus excellent benefits .
A twelve month probationary period is required. Pay for current state employees will be set in accordance with the Wisconsin State Compensation Plan.
