Software Engineer - Mid Level

As a Software Engineer, you'll be responsible for gathering, analyzing, and defining requirements to determine the most effective software and web technologies to satisfy client needs. You'll develop, maintain, support, and enhance complex software systems based on documented requirements, providing specific input to system design, and adhering to formal design processes and guidelines. You'll design and develop user-friendly interfaces, maintain technical documentation, and ensure quality control of software. You will select development processes, recommend new technologies, and troubleshooting complex software problems. You'll also integrate new products with existing applications to improve system functionality and design.

Experience and Qualifications:

To be eligible for this demanding position, the ideal candidate should demonstrate the following experience and qualifications:

Required Education and Years of Experience:

  • 9+ years of professional experience with a Bachelor's degree or equivalent;
  • 7+ years of professional experience with a Master's degree or equivalent;
  • 5+ years of professional experience with a PhD or equivalent;
  • Additional years of experience are accepted in lieu of a degree

Required Qualifications:

  • Active Top Secret with the ability to obtain a Polygraph
  • Ability to complete development work on the high-side Linux environment
  • Security+ certification
  • Java experience (any level of experience)
  • Python experience (any level of experience)
  • Mongo experience (any level of experience)
  • Postgres experience (any level of experience)
  • Appian Experience (At least 2 years of experience designing, developing or supporting Appian or Appian-based applications)

Desired Qualifications:

  • Active TS/SCI with Polygraph
  • Skilled in communications with government customers on issues
  • Cloud experience
  • Familiar with DIA engineering environment
  • Ability to capture user issues and feedback
  • Ability to create sustainable processes
  • FIDOS-X experience
  • Skilled in engineering efforts (using Appian) of core processes for a federal government agency

Telework/Remote Availability: Telework available, must be able to work in a SCIF

Work Location: Elkridge MD; Annapolis Junction, MD; Washington, DC; Reston, VA

Summary Pay Range:

Please note that the information shown below is a general guideline only. Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.

$145,000 - $178,500
