Job Title: Structural Detailer / Mechanical Designer

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Structural Detailer / Mechanical Designer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for drafting and designing a wide range of structural steel, miscellaneous steel, and sheet metal items primarily using Solidworks as the 3D design software. You will be tasked with 3D and 2D modeling for structural components and developing detailed drawings and dimensions for custom fabricated parts. Additionally, responsibilities include developing part lists for manufacturing and assisting in field measurements.

Hard Skills

• Experienced in structural steel detailing (2+ years)
• Proficient in Solidworks
• Experience with miscellaneous steel design (handrails, stairs, ornamental steel)
• Ability to perform mechanical design (sheet metal, machinery modifications)
• Experience in pipe/mechanical systems is a plus

• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Willingness to handle rapid design turnarounds

Work Site

This is a fully on-site position in Indianapolis, Indiana.

Work Environment

Our company, a compact team of 15-20 employees, predominantly involves computer-based design and drafting, taking up about 90% of your work time. The remaining time may involve visiting customer sites to integrate designs effectively into their facilities. This role requires flexibility and readiness to deliver projects sometimes within 24 hours.
