Job Title: Video Production Team Lead

Job Description

: The Video Production Team Lead will contribute to ONC’s mission of providing nonpartisan news, opinions, and policy solutions by overseeing the ONC Video Production Team. The Video Production Team Lead will delegate tasks to interns within the department, assigning responsibilities based on their strengths and expertise. They will provide guidance and support to interns, ensuring they have the necessary resources and assistance to excel in their roles. The Video Production Team Lead will actively coach interns, fostering their professional development and helping them navigate their responsibilities within the department. They are responsible for coordinating with other teams that require Video Production capabilities and working with them to complete projects. Along with the responsibility of the entire video editing process, this Team Lead will also be responsible for collaborating with the Director of Media on creative direction. This includes partnering with the CEO and Chief Operating Officer (COO), Directors, Donors and Sponsors, and creative teams to understand the vision and objectives of the various video projects.

This position is remote, with work primarily conducted over Zoom and Slack, so applicants must be comfortable coordinating in a remote environment and are expected to maintain a high level of communication. The duration of this internship can be as short as a semester or as long as a year or more and can be extended. Preferably, this leader will commit to 6 months.

Compensation: This is not a paid position.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the Video Production Team at ONC.

  • Delegate tasks to interns based on their strengths and expertise.

  • Provide guidance and support to interns.

  • Coordinate with other teams to produce short form and long form video content.

  • Manage the entire video editing process, including content creation, curation, execution, and distribution.

  • Collaborate with the Director of Media on creative direction.

  • Partner with CEO, Chief Operating Officer (COO), Directors, Donors, Sponsors, and creative teams to understand project vision and objectives.

  • Managing the media folder within the ONC Google drive including, but not limited to making sure all video production materials are organized and accurately stored

  • Effectively communicate with other ONC team members (Slack, Email, Zoom)

Qualifications



The Video Production Team Lead should have the following skills, education, and experience:

  • Working towards a degree in Film Production, Broadcast Journalism, Digital Media, Visual/Fine Arts, and/or related fields

  • Responsive, consistent, and effective communicator, even during conflict

  • A self-starter who is willing to take initiative and complete tasks

  • Ability to work remotely and on their own schedule in order to make deadlines

  • Adobe Suite experience required

  • Google Workspace experience preferred

  • Ability to attend the Organization-Wide meetings every other week

  • Ability to lead weekly Video Production team meetings

  • Must be authorized to intern in the U.S.
